Water dog

Boston Terriers are not a breed known to really like water, but for some reason Oscar does. When I take him to the lake, he will drag you there and when it's time to go home, you can't get him out of the water. The funny thing is-he used to be terrified of water. I'm not complaining though because I don't have to bath him in the summer. He does it himself!

The Long year

So, I decided to put this into parts, because if I don't it will get pretty boring.

Shortly after I did my last post, but previous boss bacame a real jerk and became very verbally and emotionally hurtful. I started to become very depressed and extremely stressed whenever I got to work. That started to show when my health started to decline, and I lost about 45 pounds, and I wasn't that big before. There was a point where my family bacame very worried about me and it was then that I knew I had to get out of that situation, for my own well being.

In early August I quit my job. That was probably the hardest thing I have ever done because I loved it, and still do, but I didn't like my boss.

In september, I started having hip problems again. It was a real bummer because I didn't have any issues with it for about 6 years. After going to the doctor and getting several x-rays, I found out that it wasn't the hip bone or joint. So, I had to go over to an orthopedist who suggested that, before thinking about doing surgery, I should try doing some physical therapy for about 6 weeks to see if that would fix the problem. Six weeks later, no change. The only other option was surgery. November 5th I had the surgery to lengthen my IT Band in my hip, as well as the muscles and tendons. The six weeks of recovery went be extremely slow and I couldn't wait for it to be all over. By the end, I was suffering from a severe case of cabin fever.

Thankfully, the surgery worked and I am feeling so much better. I am also happy to say that I found a part time job working as a nanny for an 18 month old adoreable little boy. I didn't want to go full time right after the surgery, I am working up to it though. I am also working on my photography because that is what I want to do in my life.

Such a long time

I realize that it has been such a long time since I last posted. It has been a really rough year for me ( I'll write about it in another post), but things are finally staring to look up. I am going to start blogging more frequently because it's fun and I have so many adventures that I am going to be heading out on over the next few months. So, with that, here's to a brighter future!

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!

I am so happy that it is my birthday today! So many things have happened to make the day great.
First I went out in the morning to put in the final adoption papers for Sadie! I am so happy that she is finally mine and I can't wait to spoil her.
I got a super cute shoulder bag from my family and it has a picture of Oscar and Sadie on it. I can't wait to use it all the time. From my brother Dan I got Mario Party for my Nintendo Ds.

I was going to go to the zoo with my mom, sister and her two kids, but when we got there we couldn't find any parking. All four of the lots were full! We were all pretty sad because I was going to test out my new camera, so we decided to go to the park instead. The pictures I got were amazing! I will post some soon.

It's been a long time

I know I haven't posted in a while, but I have been really busy! Work has been really crazy with a lot of dogs coming in every day. I have also been housesitting almost everyweek for the past two months, so I haven't had much time to be around the computer.
During this whole time, I have also been dealing with housetraining Sadie ( mama chi ) which is not going all too well. She has taken to going potty all over my floor and not where I want her too go! It is so frustrating sometimes, but I know I can't give up.
Oscar has been having seizures and when he does they can last about 1-3 minutes. On thursday I finally found out that the vets may have caused the seizures! It's a long story so I will explain more about it tomorrow.

On top of all that, I was finally able to get a new camera about a month ago. It's a Nikon D90 that came with two lenses and several other things ( too much to list ). I have been saving up for about the last three years and it was so worth it! The pictures it takes are amazing and it's so fast. This picture and the ones above were taken with it.

Mama Chi

Remember Mama? She was one of the puppy mill dogs that was rescued and my work took her and her puppies in. Let me remind you.

Well, I have been fostering her for the last two weeks and she is doing so well. She was so scared of people the first couple of days but is now starting to come out of her shell. Oscar and Mama have become very bonded with each other.

When it snowed last week Mama wasn't too sure about the white stuff. She probably had never seen it before, but handled it very well.

Pictures of Oscar

Here are some random pictures of my boy. The first is of what Oscar likes to do while I'm in the shower. He lays in front of the heater in the bathroom and ends up sleeping on my clothes that are on the floor.
The next one is how I find him when he sneaks on the bed. He doesn't hide himself very well.

And when I lift up the blanket, out comes the "let me sleep" look.
