Cinnamon Spice

In the last post I said that I had gotten a new Guinea Pig named Cinnamon Spice. On May 12th, my Guinea Pig Cocoa died unexpectedly for an unknown reason. She got very sick within 2 days and I had to put her to sleep because there was nothing the vet could do for her. I was so sad and I was heartbroken. It happened on my mom's birthday, the day before mother's day, and 4 days before my birthday. I thought it was going to ruin my week.

I was still very sad by the time my birthday came around, so Louis and I went over to a local pet store named Denny's Pet World to look at the baby bunnies. There weren't too many bunnies but there were a lot of Guinea Pigs. I lifted up the house that was in a pen and we knew, as soon as we saw her, that Spice was ours! She looked just like a Mini-Ginger. I just had to convince my mom to let me get her because I was still living at their house. She told me that she would think about it.

The next day she told me that she would go over to the pet store after she went to the fabric store. She called me later that day to say that she had a feeling that she needed to go to the pet store first. When she got there, someone and their little 5 year old were already looking at her. She talked with the lady and told her what had happened with my Guinea Pig. She was able to put Spice on hold and I picked her up that day after work. I am so glad that everything worked out for the best. She is a great little Guinea Pig!

Ginger Has Gone To The Rainbow Bridge

We got back from our Disneyland trip late Friday the 22nd of June and I didn't get home until about midnight. I unpacked some of my bag but saved most of it for when I got up in the morning. I brushed my teeth and then went to say goodnight to the Guinea Pigs. I knew something wasn't right because none of the piggies were coming out of their houses. Cinnamon Spice was still a baby so she was still a little scared sometimes(I'll take about her in the next post), but this was very unusual for Ginger or Vanilla Bean to say hi when I get home. I put my hand in the first house and felt Spice so I knew that Ginger and Bean were in the other house. I moved my hand to the second house and was greeted by Bean, but she wouldn't let me put my hand inside. I pushed her aside and was met by what I had dreaded for the whole trip. There was Ginger's limp, lifeless body laying there. It was 1 AM and I ran to tell my mother. I also asked her when she did the Guinea Pigs last. She told me that they were done only 4 hours before. That means that sometime in those last 4 hours Ginger just couldn't hang on. I was heartbroken that he didn't wait for me to get home.

I took his body out of the cage and had my final goodbye along with the other animals. I know I look like crap in the pictures, but I had just gotten back from a week long trip, was sunburned, had been crying, and was very tired.

I really miss him, but I know he was also really old too. 8 1/2 years!

Ginger will never know how many loved ones he had by his side that night. I believe he is watching over me right now and is waiting for me at the end of the rainbow bridge.

I'm so glad Louis was able to meet my little guy while he was still with us. He was an amazing little guy!

Disneyland

Okay, I know it's been a long time and I have been really busy these past 8 months. On Christmas Day, Louis's parents told everyone that they were taking us on a trip to Disneyland. I was so happy to learn that I would be going too. We left Washington Monday June 18th and got back late Friday June 22nd. These were a few pictures from the air plane on our way to California.

Tuesday was the first day we went to the Disney Park. Me, Louis, and his sister Mercedes got dropped off first. We thought we would be able to get our Disneyland passes first, but found out that we needed his father to get them. So, we had to call his parents and let them know, then stand around, get some pictures, and wait until his parents showed up.

We had such a great time there. Here are some pictures from Disneyland.

The best part about Disneyland?

On Tuesday June 19th, after the World of Color show, Louis proposed to me. It was wonderful and I said yes!!! I can't imagine being with anyone else.
