Garden D' Lights

It's been so long since I have posted anything. It has been really crazy this month, but it has been really fun! At the beginning of December, Louis went with me to Redmond lights. We took Oscar and Sadie with us and it was great. Sadie played it safe in the dog stroller because that is her safe zone, but Oscar was saying hi to everyone he met. There were so many people who wanted to get pictures of him in his Santa suit.

Now I will talk about the Garden D'Lights at the Bellevue Botanical Garden. I pre-ordered the tickets for it because that is what is recommended on the website. That way we wouldn't have to wait in line for tickets. My sister Lily and her husband Magnus picked Louis and I up from my house. The garden was amazing and I am so glad we all went together because we all had a great time!

Kirkland Tree Lighting

This weekend was great! Friday I went with Louis to his house to help his family set up their Christmas Tree and decorate it. It was a lot of fun and I got to see his niece and nephew again. I would have stayed longer if I wasn't housesitting in Seattle.

Saturday Louis went with me to the tree lighting in Kirkland. It was so much fun and I had a great night. I wouldn't want to spend it with anyone else.

Here is the tree before

Oscar and Sadie sure got a lot of attention!

The view of Lake Washington was amazing

It was a great night!

More Thanksgiving Pictures

I know it took me a few days to get more pictures, but here they are.

This is my very yummy Tofurky Roast. I know it's not turkey, but what do you expect? I don't eat meat and this is the next best thing.

Hanging out with the family and playing games. First was the Busytown game with my niece and nephew.

Next, we played Disney Apples to Apples

Then it was time to play with the Xbox Kinect

It was a lot of fun

It was a great day and yet it still felt like someone was missing. That's okay, I still get to see Louis on the weekends.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I had such a great time today with family. I got to a little bit of a late start today, but that's okay because it's a holiday and I'm allowed to do that. When I did get out of bed, I watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and I look forward to it every year. During this time I got a call from my mom and she told me that my sister Shelly was going to have Thanksgiving dinner at 2 PM. This is the first time I was hearing about it and I knew that I wouldn't be ready by that time.

Louis called about 11:45 to wish me a Happy Thanksgiving. He is so sweet! We talked for about an hour before I had to get myself going. I took a shower and then put my Tofurky in the oven to cook. It took a little more than an hour and by the time the roast was done, it was almost 3 PM. Luckily I had already called the family and told them to go ahead and eat without me. I would come when I could. I ate some of my roasted Tofurky and then headed off to my sister's house to enjoy being with the family.

When I got there, the dinner was being cleaned up and three people were sleeping. I played a game with my niece and nephew. Then several of my family played Disney Apples to Apples. It was so much fun and we all had a great time. Finally the xbox kinect was brought out and half of the family took turns playing games on it. Again, we all had a great time and I got lots of pictures. I've never played with the kinect before so it was something new to me, but it was so much fun and it made me want to get one for myself! That won't happen for a while, but I can still dream.

I will post more pictures tomorrow but I will post one of me and my niece Gwyneth playing kinect.

The only thing that could have made this day better would have been being with Louis. I love him and miss him. The good news is that I will get to see him tomorrow and Saturday. I can't wait!

Away for 2 weeks

Since Thursday I have been housesitting for someone that was referred to me by my boss. They have two labs and they live in Medina! I'm going to be here until December 3rd. During this time, I am taking on a very big task. I'm going to try to finish this 5000 piece puzzle.

This should be interesting.

Thought for the day

"The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quiet, alone with the heavens, nature and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature. As long as this exists, and it certainly always will, I know that then there will always be comfort for every sorrow, whatever the circumstances may be. And I firmly believe that nature brings solace in all troubles.

Bellevue Botanical Gardens- Again

You may wonder why I am writing about another trip to the Bellevue Botanical Gardens. Well, the gardens are so beautiful throughout the year and I really enjoy being out in nature and seeing what God has to offer.

When Louis and I went to the gardens last Saturday there were volunteers setting up for the Garden D'Lights. This year it is happening from November 26th-December 31st and it looks like it will be really cool. Louis and I are already planning on going at least once and I'm trying to convince my family to come with us.

Before getting to the pictures I wanted to share two quotes that say how I feel about these gardens.

"If you truly love Nature, you will find beauty everywhere."
- Vincent Van Gogh

"Always remember the beauty of the garden, for there is peace."
- Author Unknown
